After my years at NTW, I attended Drake University and spent seven years of my life in beautiful Des Moines. I spent four years getting my Liberal Arts degree and then three years studying law at the Drake University School of Law. After getting my law degree, I returned to Chicago and became employed as an Assistant State's Attorney for the Cook County State's Attorney's Office. I prosecuted criminal cases for four years, trying many violent crime cases before juries. I loved the work, but after four years recognized the financial sacrifices one makes working for the government. I then went into private practice with a fairly large Chicago law firm; became a partner there and, after a short tenure with another firm, started a new law firm with three of my partners in 1986. Since then, our firm has done quite well and we now have 25 lawyers. I principally represent companies which are sued for alleged defective products. My cases are quite interesting and they have required some international travel. I am married and have two kids. My wife is an actress and gets roles in local professional theatre. She also gets parts in industrial films and some television commercials. My son is 18 years old and is a freshman at Tulane University in New Orleans. My daughter is 15 years old and is a freshman at Deerfield High School. (She is a phenomenal vocalist and plans to have a professional singing career. She just may do it!) We have been living in Deerfield for the past eleven years. We also own a home in the Indiana Dunes at Beverly Shores (near Michigan City). We travel there routinely for the weekends--it's only 80 miles from Deerfield. I can be reached at Jsinger@smsm.com.
